Hydraulic folding platform

Hydraulic foldable platform is a useful invention for busy terminals to carry out maintenance, repairs, as well as accident damage repairs of STS, RMG and RTG cranes.

Accidents and mishaps occur during busy Container Terminal activities in the quay area.   A typical example:

 Crane activities commence once the ship berthing is completed. At the beginning of the operation, STS crane can travel any side of the ship during low tide. After few hours’ ship derrick crane hits festoon I beam while travelling caused due to high tide. It is a long procedure to repair the damaged festoon I beam by erecting scaffolding, which could take weeks. Time and cost of the repair is high.

In the above situation the foldable platform could be a better solution.

The damaged festoon beam can be accessed and repaired with ease by attaching folding platform to the spreader and by hoisting and moving the trolley to the damaged area. Repairs can be completed within a day and crane released back to operation.

Another cost saving factor of the foldable platform, is that it can be used on ship to shore cranes RMG and RTGS for periodic maintenance and repair works.
